Safety Certifications
Why are safety certifications required?
For your safety and the longevity of our equipment, members must be certified before operating heavy machinery (like CNC routers and Laser Cutters) independently.
How much do certification workshops cost?
All our standard machine safety and certification classes are a flat rate of $25 per person.
Do I need prior experience to take a 101 class?
Not at all! Our foundational 101 workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our instructors will walk you through everything step-by-step
How long do certification classes take?
Most basic safety classes take between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the complexity of the machine.
Do my certifications expire?
Your certifications do not expire as long as your membership is active. However, if you haven’t used a specific machine in over a year, an instructor may ask you to do a quick 5-minute refresher check.
Class Logistics & Booking
What should I wear to a workshop?
Safety first! You must wear closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back, and avoid loose clothing or dangling jewelry. We provide safety glasses and ear protection.
Can non-members take classes?
Yes! While members get priority booking and discounts, our project-based masterclasses are open to the general public.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel or reschedule your workshop for a full refund up to 48 hours before the class begins. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable.
Are there age restrictions for workshops?
Standard workshops are for adults 18 and older. However, we occasionally run specific educational bootcamps designed for younger makers (ages 14-17).
Do you offer private classes for corporate teams?
Yes, we offer private team-building workshops and custom training days for hardware startups. Please contact our support team for group rates.
